hey there. here is some nyc advice. go for a stroll (hopefully not too cold) through central park. walk around soho (start on houston and broadway and walk south) and check out the shops. MoMA is a great museum, as is the guggenheim, and a new museum called The New Museum. Cool bars: Black and White on 10th btwn 3rd and 4th, lowkey,no stuffy door policy. Also - Dark Room in the lower east side, also a cool place, as is Gallery Bar in the lower east side. Great restaurants, cheap great food: cafe habana on elizabeth. la esquina on kenmare. great brunch: blue ribbon, 9th street market, clinton street bakery. all these places are extremely popular so either get there early or plan on waiting. but well worth it. enjoy!
