It depends on what you are most interested in. Art, architecture, history, culture, it's all there. The biggest problem is choosing what to do in your time-frame.
Obviously the Eiffel Tower is a must-see, but I highly recommend climbing up the L'Arc de Triomphe (spiral stairs inside the side columns). The view isn't as "birds-eye" as the Eiffel Tower, but it's in a much more interesting location and isn't nearly as crowded.
The Musee D'Orsay is good for impressionist and modern art while the Louvre is better for more traditional and renaissance art. Expect to see huge crowds (especially in the afternoon) if you go to the Louvre.
A visit to the Sacre Coeur is lovely, and is more visually appealing than Notre Dame, both in surroundings and overall feel. Notre Dame almost always has scaffolding around portions of the facade because of restoration/cleaning. -side note about Notre Dame, there is an amazing little ice cream shop to the left of the cathedral, highly recommended :)
Those are just the touristy basics if you're only going to be in town for a few days. If you'll be there longer, I would try to avoid going to all of the museums at once because it's very overwhelming. Take your time and wonder around the city, stroll into the bakeries, and just enjoy being in Paris.
A trip to Versailles would be well worth your time if you can manage it. Especially if you go when the orange trees in Marie Antoinette's gardens are in bloom. The gift shop in the palace has amazing jams and jellys.
It helps to know French, or at least enough to get around, as many Parisians are very snotty if you don't at least attempt to speak to them in their own language.
I hope this gives you an idea of where to start, but you should personalize your vacation for your interests. You really can't go wrong!

Oh my goodness, there are SO many places!! If you can make it out to the Isle of Skye, it will be by far one of the most beautiful places you've ever seen!! And Edinburgh is really popular, but for a reason-- it's two completely different cities in one, the old and the new, and there's just SO much to do!! Just talking about it is making me want to go back immediately :)

hi there, yeah that photo is actually 2 photographs, one of me reflected in a mirror and one of some plants outside my window in a snowstorm.
and my camera is a canon powershot SX100. you live pretty close to me (chicago)! aren't you incredibly ready for nice weather??
Well, this winter it got down to around 29 degrees. Not including wind chill. I had to invest in a North Face jacket, and wear serious gloves. It's only that cold for a few weeks. Then it gets into the forties, around late February/March/April it climbs to the fifties, and if we are lucky we are in the sixties by early May!
My notebook(s) are in the process of being transferred to the internet via blogging. There's a whole lot of stuff in them though! I now own a camcorder as well as a digital camera so hopefully this summer I will be fully in sync with the times!
Your pictures look lovely...isn't it nice to have a collection of travel memories? Pictures, blogs, videos, or all three!

Hmmm, currently I have no trips planned :(. I applied for the STA Internship, shots are pretty much 1 in a million, but I have high hopes. I'm trying to figure out what is going on with the audio of my video. I've made many videos before, but I've never uploaded to them online, so I'm a little confused. It works completely fine on the computer I made it on and the many I've transferred it too- it also works well over email, so I'm stumped for the minute. I emailed STA for some help, so hopefully after the holiday they'll get back to me. Do you have any trips other than London planned for the near future?
I do have a break from March 15th-24th and was hoping to possibly find some REALLY cheap airfare to Prague and then just do the whole hostel thing, but it isn't looking so great :/

Beautiful profile picture! I was only in London for two days so I pretty much only checked out the touristy spots. However, out of those the Tower of London was really neat- like a great museum set in a historic castle right anext to the Tower Bridge. Also make sure to bring an umbrella and expect for colder weather than you realize- I wasn't prepared for the fact that it rains cold rain 300 days a year. Still a great city though- the pubs are really fun and the people were much friendlier than I had expected! Have a great trip!
